Law enforcement in the Chillicothe area celebrate New Year’s Eve with meth bust and several arrests

CHILLICOTHE, Mo.— The Chillicothe Police Department wrapped up an in depth narcotics investigation on New Year’s Eve after issuing two search warrants.

 

According to a press release from the Chillicothe Police Department, one warrant for a residence located on the 1300 block of Easton Street led to the arrest of two Chillicothe residents, a 79-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man. Officers seized 85 grams of methamphetamine, $2,100 in cash, and paraphernalia all relating “to the sales and distribution of narcotics.”

A second warrant issued for a location in the 400 block of Webster Street led to the arrest of three more Chillicothe residents. Officers took a 55-year-old man, a 48-year-old man, and a 57-year-old woman into custody based on findings in the home. Officers garnered 16 grams of methamphetamine and more paraphernalia from the residence. Officers surmounted that the finds at this residence also relate to the sale and distribution of narcotics.

As the eve of 2020 continued on, patrol officers enforcing traffic stopped a vehicle in the 1000 block of Washington Street. The stop led to the arrest of a 39-year-old man who officers identified as “…a convicted felon…” possessing an allegedly stolen firearm. Additionally officers found methamphetamine and paraphernalia in the vehicle. Authorities also took his passenger into custody, a 37-year-old Cameron woman with a warrant out of Caldwell County.

Later, law enforcement released two, of those in custody, with court dates. Another four individuals took home formal charges in Livingston County and one other person received transport to Caldwell County for an outstanding warrant.

In summation, The Chillicothe Police Department and Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, with the assistance of K9 officer Zaki,  took $4,500 worth of methamphetamine of the streets on New Year’s Eve.

The investigation into particular individuals and areas began early on in 2019.
